DHL has added drones to its delivery fleet. DHL conducted a beta-test of its Parcelcopters in Bavaria, Germany. Over the course of three months, residents of Reit am Winkl used Parcelcopters to ship packages to areas within an eight-kilometer radius of their village. By truck, it would have taken half-an-hour to get a package to its destination. The Parcelcopter completed the delivery in less than a third of that time.

Scam artists often commandeer the logos of legitimate companies including DHL. If you receive an email trying to sell you something and requesting payment in advance it is not from DHL. DHL does not sell general merchandise and does not collect payment via email. Immediately report fraud involving the use of the DHL name and logo. When it comes to delivering disaster-relief supplies proper logistics management is vital. When disaster strikes Deutsche Post a division of DHL works with the UN to aid the victims through DHL’s Go Help initiative. Cost-free DHL gives the UN access to every DHL resource.

As part of their Go Green Program DHL is supporting Bryan Adams’ Shine a Light Tour. Adams is a committed environmentalist. For each ticket purchased to a Shine a Light performances DHL will plant a tree. The tour schedule covers 20 plus countries. By 2050 all DHL delivery vehicles will be electric. The company already has a fleet of 7,800 electric bikes.

DHL plans on aiding the interstellar delivery company Astrobotics in the delivery of materials to maintain a human presence on the moon. With logistical guidance from DHL crafts belonging to Astrobotics will be making the deliveries. This project seems especially appropriate since DHL was founded in the year of the first lunar landing.
